Parent, Caregiver and Guardian Opinion Survey

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents / caregivers / guardians think of our school. The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional but we encourage all families to participate. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

A random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents / caregivers / guardians has been selected to participate in this year’s survey.

The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open from Monday 7 August to Friday 8 September 2023. The families that were randomly selected will receive an email on Monday with instructions on how to complete the survey.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 10-20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the survey period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.

Estimation Challenge set to begin…

In week 4 of this term, we are going to introduce an Estimation Challenge! Students will have the opportunity to record their estimation in class and then see a challenge play out at Assembly that week. We are hoping it will create some great mathematical conversations at home and at school, whilst also developing our student's estimation skills. Keep your eye out for some posters around the school and a Compass post to families that was sent out at the beginning of this week to check out what the first challenge is. It will involve the teachers… and students might even get a say about which teachers should complete the challenge! We look forward to seeing who can put their estimating skills to the test and get closest to the answer!

Prep Enrolments 2024

Prep enrolments for 2024 closed on Friday. A record number of applications were received. Parents were notified of the outcome of their application on Sunday.

I look forward to continuing to work with many of our existing families, through the enrolment of younger sibling. I also look forward to working with many new families in 2024.

School Crossing

The City of Greater Bendigo Council are currently installing a remote school crossing on Retreat Road, just North of Kristy Drive. This crossing will not be staffed by a supervisor, however, flags will be displayed and removed each day. This project should be finalised in the next week or two.

This is a great result for our school community, as it will provide a much safer passage to school for many of our students and their families.

Security Cameras Operating

Our security cameras have now all been installed and are operational. These cameras were made possible by a very generous donation from a family in our school community. They have asked to remain anonymous.
