Principal's Piece

God's Love and Care for All

Dear Parents/Carers,

On this special occasion of Principal's Day in Australia 2023, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the school community for acknowledging the role of Principal and their appreciation of all our school leaders. As is often said:'It takes a village to raise a child and as Principal, my role in leading our school in shaping the future of our students and the entire educational landscape, cannot be achieved without the support and guidance of our dedicated staff, the parent community of Our Lady's and most importantly our enthusiastic and eager learners- our children.

I also extend our appreciation to the devoted teachers who work tirelessly to impart knowledge, wisdom, and values to our students, instilling in them a love for learning and a thirst for knowledge.  To the supportive parents of Our Lady's, I am grateful for your partnership in your children's education. Your involvement and encouragement create a strong support system that enhances the overall educational experience.

I celebrate the hard work and enthusiasm of our students it is a credit to their parents and their teachers. The students' curiosity, creativity, and determination continually inspire us and make our school community vibrant and dynamic. Our Lady's is a great village!

It's back again this year and we invite all our fathers and children along to breakfast later in the month to celebrate Father's Day 2023. Please check your COMPASS feed on Monday when the invitation will be sent out.

Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools – School Improvement Surveys (MACSSIS): Monday 28 August – Friday 15 September 2023

Throughout each year, we pause to listen to our students, families and staff to gauge how our learning community is travelling. This feedback is invaluable to our progress as effective school communities and is backed by evidence-based research and best practices.  Please follow the link to a letter outlining the program. All parents will have the opportunity to participate in the survey.

Farewell Fr Toaan This week as we shared morning tea with Fr Toaan in recognition of his time at Our Lady's. He leaves Our Lady's Parish after three years of dedicated service to our community. We will miss Fr Toaan's witty sermons and his enthusiasm and care for all our students and staff. Fr Toaan has been appointed Parish Priest for the Parishes of  St Peter and Paul Doncaster East and Our Lady of the Pines Donvale. Meaning he will be a very busy person!

Best of luck to our students competing in the Craigieburn South District Athletics Championships next Wednesday at Meadowglen International Athletics Track in Epping and also our boy's soccer team who are competing in the Northern Metropolitan Region Soccer Finals at Darebin International Sports Centre- sounds impressive! Good luck to all our competitors and coaches.

Take care

Paul McEntee
