Wellbeing Matters
Wellbeing is the development of the capabilities necessary for students to thrive, contribute and respond positively to challenges and opportunities of life. At ARPS, students complete weekly Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) sessions that support positive social behaviours and peer relationships, less emotional distress, and improved academic achievement. In upcoming newsletters, we will highlight these programs.
Another key to a student’s wellbeing is staff wellbeing. Research has shown teacher wellbeing can also have an impact on students’ academic and emotional outcomes, and the emotional wellbeing and economic productivity of parents. This term, a spotlight has been placed on teacher wellbeing. There are many initiatives in place, but a particular highlight was our staff wellbeing bowling night. There were many laughs, not as many strikes, and quite a few balls that did not hit a pin, however, a key takeaway was the fun that we all had.
Congratulations to Mr Rickwood who took home the prize for the highest score!
