Brief Description: This unit of study provides a crash course in filmmaking. Explore the different styles of filmmakers, develop skills and ability to plan a film and collaborate to create an original short film.

At the conclusion of this unit of study students will have: 

 

An understanding of key knowledge

  • Identify codes and conventions that can be used to communicate narratives and engage an audience.
  • Follow a procedure in the steps of pre-production, production and post-production in film making.

  • Employ planning, drafting and editing procedures in producing a short film
  • Analyse and evaluate film techniques and genres.
