Unit of Study: Art Through the Ages

 

Brief Description: Embark on a captivating journey through the ages as we explore the rich and diverse world of art history. This unit of study offers a comprehensive overview of artistic movements, significant artists, and iconic artworks from ancient civilisations to the present day. Through dissecting artworks and insightful discussions, students will gain a deeper understanding of the evolution of art and its profound impact on culture, society, and human expression. This unit provides broad knowledge of the art world, and how art history has shaped art making in contemporary society. Students will employ this knowledge to their own art making, and produce a collection of artwork in a visual journal that explores a range of materials, techniques and methods.

  • Investigate significant artists, their works, and their contributions to the art world.
