Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

As we sail through the second semester of the academic year, it's time to reflect on the remarkable journey that our senior students have embarked upon in Years 10, 11, and 12. This edition of our newsletter highlights the significant strides made by our dedicated young learners as they push the boundaries of their academic and personal growth.

Year 12 VCE: The Countdown to Success

For our Year 12 students, the culmination of their educational voyage is drawing near. With only a few weeks remaining until they finalise their coursework, these resilient students are poised to reap the rewards of their dedication and hard work. Practice exams will take place in Week 10 of this term (Term 3), aiding in their preparation for the exams that commence early in Term 4. Year 12 VCE students are encouraged to devote extra study time outside of the classroom.

VTAC applications are currently open, and our Year 12 students have commenced a series of sessions focusing on the VTAC application process. Information regarding this process was distributed to families earlier this term, and our students are now brimming with enthusiasm and eagerness to embark on their new journeys next year, regardless of the paths they choose.

Year 11: Navigating the Pathways

The Year 11 journey has been marked by the exploration of potential career pathways and subject selections. Course confirmation played a pivotal role in helping students make informed decisions about their final year of school next year. As students delve deeper into their chosen subjects, they have also embraced valuable study and revision techniques to equip themselves for the impending challenges of senior exams.

This term, our Senior School students have actively participated in Elevate sessions - a program designed to cultivate essential study and revision skills. These workshops are led by university students who have recently completed their secondary education. The feedback we've received from our students has been overwhelmingly positive, as they find the presentations relatable and engaging. For those who are interested, Elevate also offers valuable parent information and resources to support your students' study habits at home.

Year 10: Laying the Foundation

Year 10 students took vital steps towards shaping their academic paths. The course confirmation process clarified their senior school subjects, whether on the VCE or VCE-VM (Vocational Major) pathway.

In 'My Future My Pathways,' Year 10 students embarked on a journey into the realm of Social Enterprise Entrepreneurs. They tackled the 'Eco Observation Tower Challenge,' refining critical thinking and teamwork through design thinking. This real-world problem-solving exercise, rooted in design thinking, equips them with both workplace skills and innovative problem-solving capabilities.

As year-end exams approach, students have already embraced study skills through 'Elevate' sessions, building strong study habits which will assist them in Year 11 and 12. Elevate is explained in the Year 11 section above.
