Prep 100 Days Celebration

On Tuesday 25th July, shouts of joy could be heard around the playground as the Preps lined up to start their day on the red carpet dressed in bright clothing. Ahead of them was a fabulous celebration of their 100 days of school.

They started the day sharing breakfast with Mr P and their classroom teacher, Mrs Cumming and the LSOs Shellie, Gabby, Dani and student LSO, Susie. The Coco Pops were definitely a hit. Whilst eating they viewed a slideshow of photos from the year so far. They laughed at the memories and how little they were way back when they started Prep. The Preps then participated in a range of activities all to do with the number 100.

At the end of the day, the Preps were joined by the whole school and their families to be presented with a certificate acknowledging their 100 days. Their Year 6 buddies asked them questions about their favourite things at school, things they've learnt and what they want to be when they grow up. We have many future footy players in our cohort which pleased Mr P.

Will we have another Marcus Bontempelli, David Zaharakis, Daniel Currie (Swans, Kangaroos and Suns) Lauren Brazzle current Collingwood, Ashleigh Riddell, current Nth Melbourne and Georgia Tait current Carlton in our midst.

We also had others who wanted to be a gymnast, a teacher and most enthusiastically, a McDonalds worker. Nearly all the children have enjoyed learning about money, particularly with the mini-Bunnings that is set up in the Prep Classroom to tie in with their inquiry unit on materials.

Overall, they had a fantastic day. Thanks to Mrs Cumming for organising such a great day and to all the staff who helped prepare and decorate the school. Thanks to Prep parents Alex and Carla who volunteered to help with the breakfast as well.
