The new semester now in full swing it has been great to see students continuing to engage in lessons and activities across the college. So far this term student have participated in the school tennis program, Project Rockit presentations which focused on bullying and cyber safety, the Australian Mathematics Competition, the Finding My Place careers program, year 8 Kryal Castle excursion, Chess competition, year 11 quantum chemistry excursion, as well as year 8 interschool sports.

Our Student Representative Council has been meeting to discuss college matters regularly. We have discussed the 60th anniversary planning, changes to the school uniform policy, out of uniform fundraising, as well as creating student forums and a change to one of our school houses. The SRC unanimously voted to look to change the Red House (Dunlop) to be named the ‘Chang’ house, after famous Australian doctor Victor Chang who is cardiac surgeon and a pioneer of modern heart transplantation in Australia. He has been selected as a great representation of our college community and an historical figure our student can aspire to be. Our Next fundraiser is on Wednesday the 8th of August which is out ‘Pink Accessories day’ which aims to raise money for the Cancer Council. Information has been posted on compass and on student posters around the school.

Rehearsals have ramped up this term for the upcoming Multicultural Concert. Students are putting in a lot of hard work practicing for the evening which is wonderful to see. The Multicultural Concert is being held on Thursday the 17th of August, at 7:30pm at the Plenty Ranges Arts Convention Centre. Tickets are available now at www.praac.com.au/tickets/

Students across the college are now undertaking the subject selection process. Presentation evening for each year level effected have occurred. Students in year 8 have until the 15th of August to select their subjects. Students and parents are encouraged to discuss the subjects together, and carefully choose what they would like to participate in for 2024. Students are able to make as many changes they would like up until the date it closes. Please ensure that all subjects are placed in preference order, and you are aware of any associated costs.
