Football Focus:

We run a Football Skills programme for our children at WHS, and our children love it. With the rain we have had this year, the fields are just not an option. Fortunately, we have a large covered court with astroturf that provides a brilliant alternative.

Our children take inspiration from our brilliant Football Ferns, and we wish them every success as they battle to make the second round. A brilliant effort and result against Norway inspired us all. Sadly, the result against the Philipines did not match that first result. We dominated in every aspect except the one that mattered - the scoreline. This meant the game against Switzerland was make-or-break, and yet again, we hit the post rather than the back of the net.

I am very proud of our team and all they achieved, very proud our country got behind them and the tournament, and very hopeful it will lead to better and brighter times ahead for our teams. They have a long way to go to reach Black Fern and All Black standards, but they are well on the way.
