Celebrating Student Learning

Year 5 Scienceworks Excursion

On Monday 7th August, all of the Grade 5 went to Scienceworks and the experience was amazing! It was so cool! There was sports exhibition. That was my favourite part of the whole place. You could play a mini game of soccer and netball. There was a skeleton on a bike that you could control. If you went fast on your bike, the skeleton went fast on their bike. The Planetarium was cool, like the movies but better. Overall, it was a great experience and I hope I can go again.

On Monday the 7th of August, we went to Scienceworks. My favourite part was the Planetarium. In the Planetarium, we got a soft chair that could lean back, because the view was from the top (or the roof). When the show began to start I really thought I was there because it felt so real. I learned that some stars that you can see from Earth are really planets!

Scienceworks Excursion

BLAST OFF!

We set off on a journey to unlock the secrets of the universe’s formation! … Well, not really. All we did was go to Scienceworks, but it sure felt like we did!

The planetarium was a magical experience - the dome-shaped cinema is an entirely new and clever concept to me. The movie we saw was a little bit wacky, but most of us still thoroughly enjoyed it. The sports area certainly wasn’t for everyone, but the activities were still a blast. I’ve never had this much fun going to Scienceworks, it’s certainly better enjoyed with friends.

The Planetarium at Scienceworks.

When we went to the Planetarium at Scienceworks, I knew i was going to enjoy it.

We had to push down our seats to watch the mini film. At the end of the film we all clapped our hands. The film was good. It was about a girl and a Commander trying to find a new home for humans in our solar system, but at the end they found out the right place for humans was Earth.

It was such a fun time at Scienceworks! The best thing, without a doubt, was the Planetarium. It was a beautiful show, showing us the constellations of Australia, and a 40-minute movie called ‘Solar System Odyssey’ that was really entertaining. I would recommend to everyone!
