Year 7/8

To the fabulous community of the junior school at CESC!

What a term it has been! I have really enjoyed taking the step back into my Assistant Principal role at the College and would not have expected that as I write this to you I am moving on to be Principal at Hillsmeade PS.

How things can change quickly.

Well we learnt that at the start of this term when we were once again placed into a remote and flexible learning space! I am so very proud of the Year 7 and 8 students and families for their resilience and perseverance throughout yet another challenging time.

This term has seen our students adapt quickly and efficiently to a new online learning platform in Google Meet and they have had great success overall in attending most classes and submitting required pieces of work. Introducing a “Rest and Recharge Day” was a great way for students to take a moment to relax but also connect via the extended Home Group session. Seeing our students online makes the hard work of all staff extremely worthwhile.

At the end of term, many rewards and prizes were handed out via Year Level Leaders for the outstanding work and contribution students have made to their learning. We hope that you received these parcels in the mail and that it provided a moment of being uplifted in what has been such a challenging time.

I’d formally like to say thank you to the CESC community for the time I have spent here at the College. Working in the green building, getting to know our students and being a part of the junior school team has been incredibly rewarding and I am grateful to have had the opportunity. Please don’t forget in Term 4 to stay online and when the moment comes, enjoy returning back onsite to school. CESC is a great place to be and those schoolgrounds are very empty without you all.

I hope you all have a rest over the break and get yourselves ready for a big finish to 2021.
