Tournament of the Minds

The Tournament of the Minds challenge for 2021 culminated in the achievement of some excellent results for a team of dedicated Year 7, 8 and 9 students who entered the STEM section of the Tournament.

Their brief was to produce a series of unique objects containing coded information which can be decoded by a unique method using light, sound or touch. The coded information contained messages about our planet which may be useful to any extra – terrestrial beings who may come in contact earth. The students received high scores from the judges in the areas of ingenuity, creativity and presentation skills

This has been a difficult year to produce an entry due to the obvious factor of the Covid restrictions which meant that students couldn’t come together in a live setting. Nevertheless, the students met every lunchtime for the past weeks of Terms 2 and 3 to produce a video which reflects their outstanding problem-solving skills. The members of the team are:

Lea Rose Briones, Wes Ferdinands, Joshua Zammit, Addison Jones, Bek Howarth, Zach Bissett and Shaelah Caruana.

Congratulations to all those involved!
