Instrumental Music

Instrumental lessons and rehearsals have continued remotely during the last few weeks. Here are some of Mrs Drinnan’s students undertaking Teams music lessons and rehearsals:

Above main: Violin and viola players, Georgie, Charlize (Ray Ray) and Charleigh rehearsing online with Mrs Drinnan as members of the Senior String Quartet.

Jamison and Cassie (Year 9) are pictured here doing their piano lesson on Teams.

Students in the Year 9 elective, Band Instrumental, have continued working on their first CAT, minus the practical component. This elective is a practical-based elective so it was unfortunate that with lockdown our rehearsals went out the window. However, students have concentrated on other aspects of the music they play, completing a web quest, a research task and a composition using an online notation program called Noteflight.

Below are two pieces of work by Charleigh Hack - A short composition in the style of Mozart, demonstrating the melody written over a broken chord accompaniment, typical of that period, and (attached) a narrative about the childhood of famous composer, J. S. Bach.
