Wellbeing Day at St John Vianney's

Thank you to our students, teachers and staff for a wonderful day

After a long and difficult term of mostly remote learning, our students, teachers and staff participated in a wellbeing day on Wednesday the 15/9/2021. We had some wonderful activities, all focused on the wellbeing and self-care of our students.

The sessions were aimed at off-screen activities and the Google Meets were merely a form of communication. It was great to see so many of our students attend each session. They were well behaved and we, the teachers and staff, really enjoyed the day.

Throughout the day our students had the chance to participate in sessions such as:

  • Storytime with Mr Mullaly
  • Healthy pizzas with Mrs Fernon
  • Cartoon drawing with Mr Hoare
  • A baby photo quiz of our teachers with Mrs Withers
  • A stem challenge with Mrs Coco
  • Exercise with Mr Ru

All students had an opportunity to complete Mandala drawings, paper plane folding, a scavenger hunt, meditation, designing and creating a gratitude tree, balloon volleyball and creating an 'after lockdown' to-do list. These activities could also great for the holidays. Students can access them through Seesaw and Google Classroom if they want.

From all accounts, the students thought it was a great day. There were lots of smiles at school and the feedback during the 3 pm Class Google Meets was great.

On behalf of the Staff of SJV, I would like to thank all the students for their awesome participation and the joy and laughter that was brought to this day.

I would also like to thank the teachers for doing such a wonderful job during this lockdown.

Thank you to the leadership team for your activities and work to make this day a huge success. A special thanks to Mr. Hoare for creating all the flyers with information for our students.

Kind regards,

Mr Ru
