Stage 2 News – 3S

This term began with a science mystery….

Andy’s tomato plant had grown flowers but he could not get it to grow tomatoes – what could be going wrong! 

3S investigated the lifecycle and anatomy of flowers and the role of pollinators such as bees. The students also worked on some amazing projects at home on the lifecycles of other living things. Vieve and Myah’s ‘moovie’ on the life cycle of a panda was a huge hit! 

At last the mystery was solved…...without pollinators present, Andy needed to gently shake his tomato plants to spread the pollen so his flowers could produce tomatoes.
