COVID-19 Update

School Holidays and End of Year Events

As we head into the school holidays, and then our final term, we are grateful that some of the restrictions around COVID have been lifted, including interstate travel to many states.

Parents/caregivers are reminded to ensure that, should you and your family travel interstate, you comply with SA Health regulations in regard to appropriate quarantine requirements on your return as required.

Term 4 is a busy and important term for our students with several camps, Year 12 final day activities, final exams, Valedictory Service and Final Year services for Senior and Middle Years’ students.   We want this time to be an opportunity to finish the year in a positive and safe way, and to also have capacity to celebrate the achievements of students in 2020.

To enable this to happen, you are encouraged to please continue to observe the following SA Health guidelines around both attendance at school and to events in the final term.

• Any person (child / student, staff member, or family member) who is unwell or symptomatic (even mildly) must not attend the school or any associated event.

• Our events include recommended measures to reduce the risks of COVID-19 for example: adhering to SA Health social distancing requirements, limiting attendee numbers, provision of hand sanitiser at entrances.

• To reduce risks, please do not share food and drinks, maintain good hand hygiene, and use non-contact greetings

• To enable us to comply with capacity requirements, please respond to any requests to provide names and contact numbers for those attending events as part of RSVP information.

Unfortunately, we are unable to include parents/caregivers at any of the following events due to the COVID restrictions:

Final Year 12 Assembly                   October 23

Final Senior Years’ Service              December 2

Final Middle Years’ Service             December 7

We do anticipate recordings of these events will be made available to parents/caregivers.

The Valedictory Service will be held at the Entertainment Centre and has the capacity to cater for the families of Year 12 students. The Entertainment Centre will have specific requirements of patrons attending and you are asked to comply with any requirements as part of their COVID Safe Management Plan. More information regarding requirements will be communicated closer to the date.

We continue to remain positive about what we can do and look forward to an enjoyable final term for 2020.

Thank you for your on-going support,

Heather Vogt
