Last week 10 of our students attended the Kimberley Immersion to Kununurra. What an amazing experience they have. Here are some of their reflections:

A highlight was from the immersion was helping Mandi in the soup kitchen. It was a highlight because I was able to help people in need and give them a good healthy feed. What Mandi is doing is an inspiration for what we can do to help out our local community.

The immersion was an incredibly insightful experience. A highlight was Save the Children, meeting many kids from Kununurra and spending time getting to know them. Save the Children gave these kids a safe place to be themselves and have fun with people their age.                                                                                                                                        Jaslina Pereira

What I got from this experience is that you need to have a go at everything. Everything was unique and beautiful and the people, the land, taught me that nothing deserves to be taken for granted and everything is amazing in its own way. I’m so thankful that I was able to go on the immersion and hopefully I get the opportunity to go back one day.                                                                                                                                                                      Charlie Pollard

The Kimberley Immersion was an incredibly enriching experience. Getting to talk to the elders and experience part of their culture was a privilege and eye opening.                                                                                                                                                                               Arielle Chant

The 2020 Kununurra immersion was an amazing experience which I wish had never ended. The amazing people of the East Kimberley along with the teachers and students who joined me made the trip awesome and so fulfilling. The children of the community made everyone feel welcome and it was a mutual enjoyment with myself and the youth of Kununurra. The few days spent in a remote school was a privilege and a phenomenal experience, making amazing relationships neither of us will ever forget.                                                                                                                                                                                     Max Patriarca

The Kimberley immersion was a great way to do community service. I was impressed with Mandi and the great work that she did feeding the hungry each Sunday. I was proud to make the damper to contribute to the meal. A highlight of this day was going out into the community was handing out the food to the people around town.  Throughout the Immersion we really felt a special part of the community. We were welcomed everywhere we went.                                                                                                                         Glenda Cornwall
