Ancient Day

Ancient Day
On Friday the 30th of November, Beaumaris Secondary College held our first Ancient Day to build on the content that students have been studying over the last semester in Our World.
Students participated in a number of workshops run by Multisensory Education including Subjects & Rulers, Warriors and Warfare and Sport Status. During these session students learnt about the evolution of societies from hunter and gatherer societies to farming societies and the importance of specialist fighters and armies in protection and survival of ancient societies and participated in a number of different ancient physical activities.
To finish the day, students were involved in an interactive Gladiator battle where they had the opportunity to try on some of the different gladiator armour and decided who would ‘live or die’ in the amphitheatre.
It was great to see so many students and staff dressed in ancient-themed costumes and a special thank-you to all the students who put in such a great effort with their costumes. It was an excellent way to conclude a fantastic year in Our World.
