SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Sarah Bridges

Senior Sub-School Manager

The Senior Sub School Student Management and Teaching Teams continue to be proud of our Year 11 and 12 students as they model the school values as leaders and approach their studies with positivity. Recent progress reports highlighted their commitment and effort.

Term 2 can seem busy as we approach the end of Semester 1 and I encourage students and parents to contact us with any concerns.

TAFE and UNI Open Days

TAFE and University open days are happening over June, July and August. Please check the individual websites for specific detail as some are virtual and some are able to be visited. This is a really valuable opportunity for students to explore courses, ask questions of tertiary students and find motivation for their current school studies.

VCE

All students studying a Unit 3 and 4 must sit the GAT on Wednesday, 9 June. Students will be provided with individual timetable and VCAA information over the next few days. Feedback from the practice GAT will also be provided next week.

There will be practice exams for Unit 3 and 4 students in the September school holidays. Dates to be published.

Year 12

Graduation; The date will be Tuesday, 16 November. It will be held at The Pier. Tickets will be approximately $100 per person. More specific details will be provided next term.

VCE students will be required to remain at school to study in the preparation for the VCAA exams and during the exam period (Term 4). More details to follow, providing a specific timetable once VCAA have published the official exam timetable.

VCAL students will be required to attend an exit interview during Term 4. This is always a positive experience, providing students with the opportunity to present their portfolios and celebrate their achievements. Dates will be provided to individual students in Term 3.

Year 11

Year 12 Jumpers: students are currently selecting designs. Just a reminder that students will be provided with only one opportunity to place an order. The cost will be approximately $80 to $100.

2022 Year 12 Camp; this will be held early in Term 1, 2022. Forms and payment will be required Term 3, 2021. The cost will be approximately $220 to $250. CSEF may be used.

Student Wellbeing

To support student wellbeing, parents and students are reminded that Student Wellbeing at school is able to be accessed at any time. If assistance is needed please ask us at the Senior Sub-School Office.

Each week there will be a wellbeing activity/support placed on Google Classroom. This week focuses on breathing using colours to help settle nerves/anxiety.
