Week 5 Term 2

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you to everyone who participated in the “National Walk Safely To School Day" last Friday. This was not only a great community event but I hope it may have assisted families to connect with other families  and make arrangements to walk each other’s children to school on a regular basis. Walking is a great way to exercise, develop healthy habits, minimize congestion of cars around our school and not to the mention the benefits for our environment. Photos can be viewed below or on our Facebook page.

Pupil Free Day – Friday May 21st

A reminder that there will be Pupil Free Day on Friday May 21st. The focus for the teachers will be on Student Assessment.

“Theircare” will still be operating on this Pupil Free Day with lots of planned activities, a movie and food provided on the day. They will also have some outdoor activities planned for the children to enjoy outside. Feel free to book your child/ren in to have some fun!

Parent Code of Conduct – Responsible use of Social Media

It has come to my attention that there are a number of parents in  “Whats App” groups in the school.  “Whats App” groups are a great way to stay connected as members of the St Fidelis community and share information.

However, when the use of “Whats App” platform becomes a place for venting about school issues that are untrue or lack sufficient evidence then this is known as “Irresponsible use of Social Media” and in breach of  our Positive Parents Partnerships Policy. (Parent Code of Conduct)

This policy outlines the way in which our community requires all parents and family members to conduct themselves when visiting our school, participating in school activities and communicating with members of our school community (including students, school staff, other parents and visitors to our school).

The policy also outlines the procedure for raising issues or making a complaint. Parents have the right to raise issues and concerns related to the education of their child or school matters. Parents should ensure that they raise their issues and concerns with the right person and follow the correct communication channels. If you ever need clarification on any school related matters the first point of call to seek clarification is your child’s classroom teacher, then any of the School Leaders including myself.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Temporary Italian Teacher replacement

Due to personal family reasons, Rosa Fokianos will be taking leave until the end of term. We will have a temporary Italian teacher for the remainder of this term.
