From the Director of Boarding

Mr Luke Morrissey

It was fantastic to spend time out in the community last week throughout NSW. Prateek Kripal and I embarked on a road trip, travelling to towns in NSW; firstly heading to Cooma, where we were joined by Lee and Sue MacMaster, the onto Griffith and Wagga Wagga for Boarding Expo’s and our Past, Present and Future Families events.

Thank you to the following families for spending time with us: McGufficke, Platts, Haylock, Rogers, Dixon, Quodling, Villata, Star, Shelton, Salvestro, Carroll, Stimson and Kelly.

A massive thank you to the Villata (Class of 2017) and Carroll Families (current) for; hosting us, arranging dinners and putting a roof over our heads and to Chris Kelly for assisting at the Wagga expo.

A big shout out to Lachlan McGufficke (Year 12) and Joshua Platts (Year 11) for representing the College and Boarding at the Cooma dinner.

The Boarding School Expos tour was a wonderful experience. It allowed and Prateek and myself the opportunity to meet and speak with, many prospective parents. We look forward to building fruitful relationships with families from these regions and hopefully joining this wonderful College in the future.

Paul Fox - Marist Service Award

A massive congratulations to Paul Fox for his acknowledgement on Champagnat day for 20 years of service to the College. Paul is an integral part of our boarding community, greatly admired and respected by staff, students and parents. Thank you for what you do for our community Foxy!

Here is a snippet of what was said about Paul at the Champagnat Mass;

Mr Paul Fox has been a member of the College’s Boarding community, first as the Boarding Coordinator for Fingal House and also Live-In Supervisor since January 2001. Notably, Mr Fox has never missed a day of work and throughout the last two decades, he has been a stalwart for the boarding program at St Gregory’s College. Paul has been incredibly generous with his time in giving great service to the community, not just in the boarding program but also being actively involved in sport and other activities, including being the coach of the ISA First Basketball Team for many years.

End of Term and Term 3 commencement

A reminder that Term 2 concludes on Friday, June 25 as a Boarders' travel day. The boys will return to the College on Sunday, July 18. Any issues in relation to travel please contact me via phone or email.

NSW CCC Success

Congratulations to Charlie Guymer (Year 11 - Temora) for his selection in the NSW Combined Catholic College Opens Rugby League team to compete at the Australian Schoolboys Championship. Good luck Charlie! The College is behind you.

Kind regards,
