YEAR 7 TRANSITION CAMP 2021 - Campaspe Downs

We were super lucky to have our camp last week before the current lockdown! Despite the weather and chilly nights, the Year 7 Transition Camp was a wonderful success. We were so happy to see the entire cohort of Year 7 students, 29 Year 10 Peer Support leaders and 30 staff go to Campaspe Downs in Kyneton.

Students participated in eight different activities through the days and continued their entertainment and active play during Peer Support led evening games. We watched students speeding down the hill on the Flying Fox, screaming as they propelled through the air on the Giant Swing and then jumping off the ledge on the Leap of Faith. It was a terrific time to also see new friendships continue to form and hear the laughter and excitement of many students who overcame their fear of heights and yelled out to their peers how to solve the problem to a game.

We would like to thank Kathleen Timms, our Head of Transition and Programs in Middle Years for organising this mammoth camp. Thank you to all the teachers and Peer Support Leaders who joined us to make it such a success.

Year 7 Level Leaders

Reflection from Ashley Robinson 7S:

On Monday, 24th of May the Year 7’s and Year 10 peer support leaders headed to Campaspe Downs for the Year 7 Transition Camp. There were so many fun activities ranging from rock-climbing to bushcraft, even a flying fox! This camp was a great opportunity to branch out and meet new people from different classes and year levels. It was such a fun camp and one we won’t forget!
