About the program

Summary

Welcome back to all our 2020 families from the break, we hope it was a safe one for you. This year we welcomed many new foundation families to the service for 2021.  We are pleased to see the new foundation children have settled in nicely and are starting to show their individual flare within the program.  With any new child we aim to settle them into the program as quickly as possible.  As part of this process, we remind them that we have high expectations of them as individuals and firm boundaries, which is no doubt a reflection of our high level of care and quality programming.

Although at the start of term 1 was a quiet start, as the term progressed, we have consistently grown in numbers with families being able to go back to work more regularly.  As such, we now have more friendly educators for the children to engage and play with.

As always, we have continued to focus on healthy eating and we have continually sourced new resources in creativity and toys that reflect upon the interests of the children.  Overall, we are pleased that we are constantly receiving positive feedback from parents who appreciate the service we provide is inviting, friendly and engaging.

Welcome back to Term 2, 2021.

And we are off! What a terrific start to term 2 at St Kilda Park TheirCare. We began the first week of term creating many mindfulness moments that allowed children to express themselves through movement and connectedness. From this, we decided to embark on a journey around the world and learn through play as well as create some awesome catapults out of modelling clay. We also stretched our legs and played many group games outside. With special days about special people just upon the horizon, week three is all about parent appreciation. Children have been working tirelessly to create small gifts and gestures for their loved ones to give them on Sunday 8th May (Mother’s Day).

Due to the nature of Melbourne and as the cooler weather creeps upon us, it is important that children are rugged up and stay warm. So, for our food choices in the afternoons we will be encouraging children to have some of our different homemade soups and pastas to keep their bellies full and their hearts warm.
