We need your help!

Year 1/2 families Working Bee

This year our Buildings and Grounds sub-committee are co-ordinating a working bee each term - one for families at each age level at our school.

After a huge turnout from our Foundation families in term 1, this term we are asking our Year 1/2 families to give up a few hours to help out with a big list of jobs to keep our school looking great and working beautifuly.

We rely on our families to help us during working bees as our limited government funding isn't enough to provide the level of upkeep required for such an old building and school site.

The Year 1/2 working bee will be on Saturday 5th June from 9am - 1pm and we will have jobs for all levels of fitness and ability. We will finish up with a free family sausage sizzle for lunch. We ask all of our Year 1/2 families to put it in their calendars now and help us out.

SKiPPS Street Library?

Thanks to all who attended the Sustainability Sub Committee last week. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday 1st June. New members welcome. Please email Michelle.

One of our first projects will be to create a Street Library as a way to minimise our consumption, share resources within our community while promoting a love of reading.

We would like to repourpose existing furniture so if you have something to donate,  would like to assist with this project or have any other great environmentally friendly ideas, please contact Allison on allison.shanahan@education.vic.gov.au or come and join the committee.

Take a book, Give a book, Share a book!’

Please also read the Green team News in this week's newsletter for other ways you can support our work around sustainability.

HELP NEEDED

A parent in Year 1/2 is in desperate need for a parent/carer at the school to drop their daughter home after school each weekday. They live in Carlisle St, St Kilda and need some support while they juggle their new workplace roster.

They are happy to pay for this service and are agreeable for a responsible adult to help them. This position may be suitable for a university student or retiree.

If you are able to help can you please contact Saman on 0416 604 476.
