Something different for Mother's Day

A huge thanks to the incredible efforts and creativity of our wonderful SKIPPA parents for organising our Mothers and Special Others morning last Friday.  It was wonderful to see our students decorating their heart biscuits and enjoying a fun, artistic experience before school. A special thanks to the dads for being on duty too. I witnessed a few of these wonderful treats being eaten at Intervallo by some of our younger students, I guess they were just too good to resist!

SKiPPS Intergalactic Gala - Saturday 4th September

One of the highlights of the year for our school community (and our fundraising sub-committee) is our annual parent trivia night.

Once again this year, the event will be taking place at St Kilda Town Hall on the night of Saturday 4th September. The evening will involve finger food, a bar, live music coutresy of 'Parental as Anything' our wonderful parents' band and trivia.

The night will have an 'Intergalactic Gala' theme with parents encouraged to get creative and let their hair down.

Further details and a link to buy tickets will be shared in the coming weeks and we encourage you to buy early to avoid disappointment.

Dogs at SKiPPS

Whilst we love that our wider SKiPPS community includes a large number of family dogs who often make the journey to school for drop-offs and pick-ups, there are a few things we can all do to make sure things go smoothly at these times.

We do have a number of children who are scared of dogs and so ask that you are aware of this if you choose to bring your dog up to school.

The area of park around the school is all designated as 'on-lead' only by Parks Victoria and so you must not let your dog run around off-lead near the school at these times.

Dogs are sadly not allowed into the school yard at any time so we ask that you secure your dog to a fence well away from any school gates if you need to come onto school grounds at drop-off or pick-up.

School Council have approached Parks Victoria to lobby for improved signage to remind all park users to keep their dogs on-lead and also to provide more bins and poo bags to reduce the thankfully rare occasions when students tread in dog poo during play times. We appreciate your support in tidying up after your dog near the school.
