New - Indigenous Artist Visit

To conclude Reconciliation Week we were lucky enough to have a visit from Indigenous Artist Tom Day, Willow & Kingy Radevski's step dad. Tom displayed his artwork and discussed how he creates it. Tom is a Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Wemba Wemba man with a proud connection to country and joined our indigenous families and FIRE carriers for breakfast.

We were lucky to share with Tom his most recent project - a painting of the water tower in Heywood with fellow artists Matt Adnate & Levi Geebung.

We look forward to welcoming Tom and learning more about his artwork.

New - Indigenous Artwork & Murals Walking Tour

The St Mary’s FIRE carriers and our Yr 5 Indigenous Students participated in a walk around to view the Murals and Indigenous Artwork that is in and around Shepparton. Students met Michael Chisolm (CEO Aboriginal Education Officer), who shared with our students the significance of the murals and the people they represent.  We had lunch at Victoria Park lake before going to visit the Kaiela Arts at the new Shepparton Art Museum.
