Reconciliation Week
The lockdown couldn't stop our Reconciliation Week celebrations! Thankfully restrictions eased on Friday and the breakfast for our Aboriginal families and FIRE Carriers went ahead. Tom Day (Willow and Kingy Radevski's Step-dad) spoke to those there about his art work and the influence his culture has on his paintings. Tom spent the day at school speaking to all classes about his work.
Today the FIRE Carriers and some Gr 5/6 students did a tour of Mooroopna & Shepparton visiting some significant local cultural locations and the Shepparton Art Museum.

Principal's Award
Week 8 Jayde Wyhoon
Jayde is a student who is a great role model to others in the school consistently being respectful, responsible, resilient and safe. Jayde is also determined to get the best out of herself and impressed me recently with her Cross Country performances and representing St Mary's at Regional level. Fantastic Jayde!

Many of our students attend lunchtime clubs which run each day at School.

What's Been Happening in the Classrooms?
Last week the students put hand prints on the rocks for Reconciliation Week. You will all agree they look fantastic!
Pupil Free Day Friday
Please note that the Pupil Free day scheduled for this Friday 10th June is still going ahead. I understand this puts a strain on families after last week's lock down, however the staff training day on Indigenous Education has been planned for some time and teachers require a set amount of professional development each term. I appreciate everyone's understanding on this.
