Reconciliation Week

National Sorry Day 26 May

National Sorry Day acknowledges and raises awareness of the history and continued effect of the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from their families, communities and culture.

Reconciliation Week  27 May to 3 June

Reconciliation Week celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.

St Joseph's will respectfully acknowledge Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week with a liturgy Thursday 3 June 2021.

Kindergarten

To acknowledge and celebrate Reconciliation Week Kindergarten have been learning about Aboriginals and their Dreamtime stories.  We read, "How the Birds Got Their Colour," told by Mary Albert, and then we created our own beautifully coloured birds.
