Student Wellbeing Update/SWPBS

School Wide Positive Behaviour Update (SWPBS)

Staff and students have worked together to streamline the Wally Reward System to make it easier for staff to track and record information, as well as for students to take their rewards. Draft documents were shared with staff and students and then feedback was received from staff and students, and a presentation was made at assembly about the changes.

And ( drumroll please) ................here it is!!

We now include all the positive data into our fortnightly assemblies with a focus on those. individuals  who have recorded the most positives in each year level for the fortnight period. We are also having a cumulative tally of positives for each of the houses that are shared at assembly each fortnight too. Then at the end of the term, the students with the highest number of positives and the house with the highest number of positives at the end of the term are warmly rewarded with something special.

The Anglicare Early Help Family Services Program will be working onsite at our school up to 2 days a week to support our families and our staff with a range of services and programs. Kristy Beaumont is the practitioner who has been appointed to the role.

The aim of this program is to support young people and their families liaise between school, family, community and external parties, supporting students with transition from primary to secondary school, support student attendance and involvement at school, provide parent support and educational group sessions along with teacher information sessions too. We are very excited to be part of this pilot with only 3 other schools in the state being offered the opportunity.

Welcome Pip, our new ETRS Occupational Therapist

We'd like to warmly welcome our new Occupational Therapist Pip Inglis who will be working alongside our speech therapist Laura Kerlin. Pip works on Tuesdays and Thursdays and supports our Tier 2 intervention groups. We employ Laura and Pip using the new Disability Inclusion Tier 2 Supplementary Funding.

Tier 2 Intervention Groups

This week we launched our Tier 2 intervention groups across the school. We now offer selected students in Grade 1/2 SPAIDES. This is a small group intensive speech program overseen by our speech therapist Laura and implemented by our trained Education Support (ES) staff. Using our data, these students have been identified as needing some extra support. We also have launched the Social Emotional Learning Groups (SEL) for students who are requiring further support in this area overseen by our OT Pip and also implemented by our Education Support Staff twice weekly.

Wellbeing Vision

Over the last term we have been establishing a vision for wellbeing at ETRS. This included parents, students and staff completing a survey about what they hoped for when our students graduated from Grade 6.

After collating all the responses and seeking feedback from our staff and Student Leadership Group we have developed a vision for wellbeing at Echuca Twin Rivers School.

Here it is..............

Students at Echuca Twin Rivers School will continue to uphold our school values as they progress through life in being Respectful, Resilient, Inclusive and Responsible leaders. They will demonstrate personal qualities including gratitude, kindness, bravery and confidence.
