Food tech with Mrs Rowling

 

We have been having a lovely time in class for the first three weeks of term. We have cooked or baked many dishes including scones, focaccia and chilli con carne. In the coming weeks we hope to also learn about Egyptian and Greek foods. 

Safety, kitchen hygiene, chopping, slicing, zesting and dicing have all been topics of discussion as have spice blends, which herbs are growing in our garden at school and seasonal fruit.

The students have been asked to present their food, as if to imaginary diners. They have been very creative with how they have added garnishes and toppings to foods. We have then tried to sit down as a class and eat together. 

We look forward to having lots more fun in the kitchen in the coming weeks.
