Senior Netball

On Thursday July 21st, Matthew Flinders sent a star-studded team of netballers to Geelong Sports Hub. The team faced North Geelong in the first round. At the end of the first half, the teams were drawn, however, MFG pulled together in the second half to pull off a satisfying win. 

Next, we faced Geelong High School in the Semis and once again, with a strong second half, were successful, 14- 22 our way. This gave us a spot in the Grand final against Belmont High School.

While in the Grand Final, our team put in a mighty effort, we were unable to match the powerful offence of Belmont High School. 

Special thanks to Megan Trotter, who helped coach and manage the team on the day, and for Ms. Lane, who coached the team at lunchtimes in the lead up to the matches. Well done all Senior Girls Netballers. We will be ready the fight again next year!
