The Garden

Students in year 8 have made a great start to their work in the garden for Environmental Technology in Semester 2. 8B have been working on a range of jobs that include building planter boxes, organising tool sheds, collecting autumn leaves, setting up lasagne compost heaps, weeding vegetable beds, pruning fruit trees and a whole lot more. Aleisha, Issy and Heidi did an amazing job cutting down a big unwanted Yucca to make way for some new fruit trees to be planted at the entrance to the garden. 

The students’ next task will be to create a preserve from excess produce that includes a professional looking label complete with nutritional information. Looking forward to tasting the different jam and chutney creations!
