Please remember we have a Public Holiday and a Student Free Day approaching. 

Friday 26th August – Gold Coast Show Holiday 

Friday 2nd September – Student Free Day 

Our school will not be open on these days. 

School Review 

As I have mentioned in previous newsletters, this week we have had our whole school review.  It has been a great process and the reviewers have been blown away by our school and the greatness they have observed in our staff, students and school community. Thank-you to those parents who had the opportunity to provide feedback on how our school is going.  Without your feedback we can not continue to improve. 

The review will provide us with some recommendations for how we can get the next lift in our school over the next four years. I will keep you updated and share the review reports when they become available. 

Eisteddfod 

Over the past two weeks our instrumental students have competed in the Gold Coast Eisteddfod. Our ensembles have performed outstandingly and been excellent representatives of Palm Beach SS. Congratulations to our Senior Strings and Senior Band who both received Silver Awards and our Junior Band who placed third and also received a Silver. Thank-you to Ms Kesting and Ms Chandler for their efforts with our ensembles and Ms Carter who is always lending a helping hand. 

We look forward to our choirs performing next week and wish them the best of luck!

Under 8’s Day 

What a fantastic day our little kids had last week celebrating Under 8’s.  A huge thank-you to Mrs Woodley, Mrs Burrage and Miss Kaiser for organising such a fun day for our students. Also, thank you to all of our school visitors for making this such a great day! 

Traffic 

Our first priority is the safety of our students. Please remember there is no right turn when exiting our Kiss n Go on 19th Avenue. We have recently had an accident and there have been several near misses due to cars turning right from this exit. Please only turn left to ensure the safety of all road users around our school.

Staffing  

This week we say goodbye to Mrs Rachel Murray for a little while as she takes maternity leave. We wish her all the best with her new arrival!
