Tassie 2019

Tasmania is filled to the brim with history, wonders of nature and spectacular sights. Our trip was an opportunity to learn about the culture of Tassie and experience it firsthand on exciting adventures. Students were excited about this trip for months – and it was certainly worth the wait!

The Spirit of Tasmania was bigger than you’d expect, with 10 decks in total, countless rooms, lounges and even a restaurant on board, it was practically a floating hotel. I will never forget that endless game of hide and seek with my friends, or the way I slept that night with the boat rocking me to sleep. Tasmania is filled with mesmerising sights , and some of the most memorable ones include Cataract Gorge, the waterfalls and the wildlife sanctuary (koalas are even cuter up close!). I also don’t think I’ll ever forget that Ghost Tour!

This trip was an opportunity to learn about the history of Tassie, grow as a person and make new friends. Many funny experiences were shared (that never-ending game of Spotto was hilarious to listen to) and it was definitely worth digging around my closet for my warmest jacket for those near-Antarctic temperatures. Thank you so much to all the staff who made this trip possible, and especially to Tracey who organised everything so well for us. A trip I’ll never forget!

VicSRC

On Thursday 12th September a group of student leaders from Years 7- 10 joined other student representative councils from schools in the region at the Lakes Entrance Golf Course for a forum on Student Councils and Student Voice.

Students had the opportunity to network with other leaders in the area, brainstorm and plan ideas for our own leadership group, and enjoy the golf course surroundings.

It was an exciting opportunity for students to voice concerns for youth in the region and work through ideas for school improvement.

We are excited to see how the student leaders are planning for increased student voice in the future.

The Wurrin Hub student leaders meet every Thursday lunchtime in W12 at 1:15pm. Please join us.
