Having Fun With Remote Learning

Cienna G - LPPS Vice Captain

We started Term 2 a little different this year.  Wednesday 15/4/2020 was the start of school but not as we know it.  We have all had to learn a new way to do our daily activities.  I have been keeping busy most days.

My mum has been teaching me how to bake.  I was lucky enough to receive an Easter package that included a digital thermometer and a new piping bag.  My mum subscribed me to online classes that I can watch and download the recipes and get step by step instructions. My first try was chocolate macarons.  They were a great success. The next one I want to attempt is a baked lemon tart.  I have requested a blow torch to be able to make the tops look decorative.

On the first day of schooling my mum also went to pick up some baby chickens for me to raise. I have 5 - they are so cute and growing fast.  Their names are Buffalo, Custard, Ruby, Sapphire & Shifty.  They are keeping me busy.

My dance school Kreationz have been amazing and shifted all the classes to online; that way I don’t have to miss my dancing.

I have been doing heaps of craft and I received a box of fairy garden goodies from my pop.  I plan to make a fairy garden. Haidyn and I have done things like crystal growing, Hydro dipping – we have hydro dipped everything in sight!!  I have made a lava lamp and a galaxy jar and my new favourite thing to do is search DIY Craft ideas for kids. I have been pressing beautiful autumn  leaves.

I have been doing some gardening and doing lots of fresh sprouts and homemade yogurt and fresh butter.  With the buttermilk we have made a chocolate cake and buttermilk pancakes.

I have been keeping a journal of all the things I do on a daily basis.  My mum said this would be a good idea to keep track of all the creative things I have been learning.  I have been doing lots and lots of puzzles and they keep me entertained.

I have been playing with my ducks and trying to get them to do new tricks.  They are loving this rain and the backyard looks like a mud pit and they are very happy.

We have been struggling with technology and trying to get all the work to upload, but by week 3 we feel like we are finally making progress and have some good routines.

I have been doing daily quotes to share.  I find all my family and friends have enjoyed these.

I am very excited to hear the fantastic news about Mrs Lorenc and can’t wait to meet her baby boy.

I am missing all my teachers and friends.  When we return to school, I will have to bring some home baked goodies for everyone to share.  Hope everyone stays safe and well.
