Remote Learning

The Greater Shepparton Secondary College community have collectively demonstrated significant support, dedication and hard work around the transition to remote and flexible learning in Term 2. As a community we have come together to ensure that the education and care of our students is the number one priority.

The students have adapted very well to our new way of flexible and remote learning, and are embracing our College values of Aspiration, Integrity, Respect and Responsibility. The students have demonstrated great aspiration as they navigate new technological learning platforms. They have shown respect for their teachers during online classes and great responsibility as they manage their own learning from home. Students have demonstrated great integrity as they seek support and guidance from their teachers and Learning Mentor on areas of the classwork in which they require assistance. Thank you to our families for supporting our students to uphold our College values.

The students have been actively participating in online learning using the Greater Shepparton Secondary College Online Learning Platforms of Compass and Teams:

I would also like to thank all of the staff at Greater Shepparton Secondary College for their diligent work in providing outstanding teaching and learning opportunities for our students, and for the exceptional wellbeing and inclusion support that has been provided for our students and families. Please find below a heartfelt thank you from Daniel Andrews (Premier of Victoria) to all school staff in Victoria:

Thank you. Two words that can’t express the enormity of our gratitude. But to every Victorian working to keep our kids happy, healthy and learning – thank you. For adapting to change and tackling challenges – thank you. For your commitment and calm – thank you. Because even though staying apart is keeping us together – please know, we value you – and all you do in keeping our state safe and strong. You have our support, our appreciation – and our heartfelt thanks”.

In Term 2 students will not receive a SEAs (Student Engagement Average) Report or a CAT (Common Assessment Task), as Greater Shepparton Secondary College has considered and catered for the dynamics and diversity of flexible and remote learning. At the end of Term 2 each student will receive a Report for each of their classes that includes a General Comment which outlines their effort, achievement and areas of improvement for work undertaken in Term 2.

We look forward to sharing the new learning's and experiences of the students at Greater Shepparton Secondary College as we progress through Term 2.
