Acting Principal's Report

Acting Principal’s report, 27th June, 2019
Whilst Greg Lacey is on an amazing holiday to Africa, Elaine and Marc have had the opportunity to manage the school in the final busy two weeks of term 2. A reminder term 2 finishes at 2.30pm this Friday.
Bosch Excursion
Marc had the opportunity to attend the excursion to Bosch with Greg Thomas and the student ICT leaders. This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to find out more about robotics and the technical work done by Bosch around the world. All the students found the experience inspiring. Well done to the students and the ICT teachers.
Reports and Parent-Teacher Interviews
Student Reports were published to the Sentral Parent Portal last Friday. Hopefully, parents had the opportunity to review their child’s report prior to the Parent-Teacher interviews held on Tuesday.
Feedback from teachers on the interview process was very positive. It was great that many students were formally involved in the interview process on this occasion. On review, if this was a beneficial inclusion, we may continue this into the future.
Athletics Achievement
Congratulations to Soha Abdelrahim, class 6D, who won the district cross country event. Soha will now progress to the state championships. We wish her all the best of luck.
Loose Change Fundraiser
This Monday, the Loose Change Fundraiser concluded. A total of $1735.70 was raised across the school over the past 4 weeks.
Congratulations to class Prep F for raising the most money, $219.20, and they will win the pizza and ice-cream party. A huge thanks to the PFA team for organising the event and in particular, doing all the counting of the money each Friday.
Term 2 High Attendance Event
Last Friday 21st June, class 1D celebrated the highest class attendance for the term at the ‘Hire Wire’ circus themed attendance event. They enjoyed a number of circus performances by students and staff, and some wonderful carnival food.
We continue to encourage all students to attend school every day. The term 3 event is themed ‘High Society.’
Musical Showcase
Information has been sent to parents calling for auditions, in week 1 of term 3, for students to perform at the inaugural Musical Showcase school event to be held on Thursday 8th August, 2019 (week 4, term 3). This event will be a showcase of musical talent across the school. We encourage students and groups of students to audition for the event.
Finally, a safe and happy holiday to all students, staff and families.
Term 3 commences on Monday 15th July. We look forward to hearing from Greg Lacey about his adventures in Africa!
