FRENCH SISTER SCHOOL

2016 Exchange Information Evening

All students who are interested in participating in the exchange program with our French sister school in Term 1, 2016 are invited to attend the Information Evening to be held on Tuesday 19 May in Room 27 at 7.00 pm. 

 

Any student in Year 9-11 in 2015 is welcome to attend if they intend to be studying French or History in 2016.

 

Our sister school, Lycée Darchicourt, will be arriving for a three week stay in February 2016, and then Lilydale High students leave for France during the final week of Term 1 and return on the last weekend of the holiday break with proposed dates being March 18 - April 8, 2016.

 

Entertainment Books are available from Sharon Stoyanoff for $65 with $13 from each book going towards fundraising for the exchange to France.

LANGUAGE PERFECT

World Championships

5 pm Monday 18 May - 5 pm Thursday 28 May 

It is Language Perfect World Championship time again. All French and Indonesian students will be participating in the competition.  

 

The competition begins at 5 pm on Monday 18 May and concludes at 5 pm on Thursday 28 May.

 

Certificates, vouchers and medals are presented by Education Perfect for the overall winners in each language category. The Languages Department at Lilydale High will also present iTunes vouchers to the top performers in French and Indonesian at each year level. 

 

We are aiming to better our results from last year, when our students were 73rd globally out of 1151 schools. 

 

 

WHY LEARN A LANGUAGE

STUDENT EXCHANGE

Australia New Zealand - Opportunities to Host a student

There are opportunities for students to experience another culture, make new friends and improve your language studies without leaving home! 

 

Student Exchange Australia New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation that is registered with all state and territory Departments of Education around Australia and with the Ministry of Education in NZ.

 

In late June - early July we will be receiving exchange students from Argentina, Bolivia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden and the USA. Our new arrivals will live with a host family and attend a local school for 3, 5 or 10 months. As we plan for their arrival, we are keen to hear from suitable families who might be interested to host a student.
