LHS WRITING COMPETITION

Congratulations to all of our winners of the Lilydale High School Writing Competition.

A diverse range of fascinating topics were explored by many students and the quality of their submissions made it extremely difficult for the judges to decide on the eventual winners.

So it is with great pleasure we commend the following students on their efforts;

Piper Cincis (Year 7), Stuart Morrow (Year 7 ALP), Matt Wagner (Year 8 ), Jess Polhill (Year 8 ALP), Ash Pope (Year 9 ALP), Mikayala Roy (Year 10), Riley Quinliven (10 ALP).

They will join their family, friends and teachers in a celebratory lunch to be held on Tuesday 19 May in the Library as part of Education Week.

WRITING COMPETITIONS

Other upcoming writing competitions include the Dorothea Mackellar Poetry Awards, closing 30 June and the Mental Health Creative Writing competition, closing 7 August.

Year 11 and 12 students are invited to submit a piece of writing to The Future Leaders Writing Prize.  It aims to encourage expressive and creative writing. The winner will receive $1,000. Students should speak with their English teacher or visit Ms Sayers in the Ramp staffroom for further information.

This Iranian film is an essential part of their studies in Term 3, as it will inform their thinking and writing for their SACs and the final examination.
