Year 12 Biology

This week we have been assessing the students understanding of ‘Membrane – structure and function’ which is the first area of the NEW Study design for 2017.

I took some photos of students working on their Science skills in the lab. They were assessing how an egg (cell) will change its mass dependent on the solution it is placed into.

Thank you to all the Biology students at LHS who have shone this week. I am very excited to be with you for 2017.

Year 8 Science

This week we have been looking at ‘Energy’ at all the different forms of energy such as heat, light and comparing them to potential energy.

We completed a fun practical, in which we tore off a tiny teddy head and burnt it to release the energy contained within it.

Biology Study Session

All students of Unit 3 & 4 Biology, are welcome to attend lunchtime sessions on Thursdays in V18.

Come to discuss issues, pose questions and any misconceptions that you may have. I am happy to help anyone that is struggling, especially those that did not complete Unit 1 & 2 Biology last year.

The lunchtime sessions will be held every Thursday until the examination in October.
