MATHS

Welcome

The Mathematics department welcomes everyone back and hopes you had a wonderful break.

We have many exciting events and competitions happening this year such as the Australian Mathematics Competition, Maths Talent Quest and Pi Day.

Keep an eye on this space as each fortnight we will be featuring photos and comments keeping you up to date with every thing that is happening within the department. We look forward to sharing an exciting year together.

We would like to welcome back Tony Crowe after some leave. Also welcome back to Emily Hoysted, Julie Colyer and Sara Schulz, who have had some time away from the Maths department. We would also like to give a big welcome to Greg Bourne who is new to Lilydale High.  He will be joining us to teach Year 7 Maths and Year 10 and 11 General Maths.

Maths Competition

Thursday 27 July

The Australian Mathematics Competition is being held again this year and is open to all students.

Every student that enters in the competition will receive a certificate of participation as well as a summary of their results.  There is also an opportunity for students to receive prize money, book vouchers, and certificates of achievement.  Over the last few years, several of our students have won significant prizes and achieved some outstanding results.

All students are encouraged to seriously consider entering this competition and it is expected that ALL Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program students will register for the competition as part of the Select Entry Accelerated Learning Program.

To enter the competition, payment of $10 (enclosed in an envelope with student name and Home Group) must be received at the School Office by Friday 10 March.
