Student Leadership Team

Superb Fundraising efforts, ANZAC Day activities & Upcoming Events

At the end of last term, both the student leadership team and the senior VCAL class had a team participate in Relay For Life, where they raised money and awareness for the Cancer Council. The student leadership team raised a total of $159 through a hot cross bun drive run through Bakers Delight, all of which was donated to the Cancer Council. It was a very successful and enjoyable event.  We would like to thank everyone who supported this cause through the hot cross bun drive.

The term concluded with an Easter egg hunt during home group organised by the student leadership team. It was a fantastic way to end the term and everyone had a lot of fun!

On Tuesday the 24th of April, there was an Anzac Day sleep out at school, which 29 students across all year levels and four teachers took part in. We ran many activities throughout the evening including games, Anzac biscuit making, poppy making, sharing stories around the camp fire, visiting the light show at the City Hall and watching the film Gallipoli before bed. On the morning of Anzac Day, we all woke up at 5:00am to attend a dawn service at Eastern Beach before taking part in the Anzac Day Parade later that day. We marched alongside Geelong’s Ex Service Women’s Association, which was an enlightening and enjoyable experience. We would like to thank everyone who took part in the sleep out, particularly the teachers who gave up their time to make the event possible.

On Thursday the 10th of May, we held another successful and fun event in the hall during recess for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Students brought in a plate of food to share others and paid a donation entry to the event to raise money for the Cancer Council.
