Visual Arts News

It has been another busy couple of weeks in the Visual Arts room. Our senior students have been working hard on their value books. Not only are they expanding their knowledge on our school values, but they are learning to work with water colour pencils and adding intricate detail into their work.

The middle students have been creating miniature houses. They are even creating miniature but proportionate furniture which will fit out their homes.

The juniors and Foundation students have been doing a multiple of creative tasks. These are expanding their fine motor, drawing and painting skills.

Thank you for your continued donations.

PE & SPORTS NEWS

The students have really enjoyed getting involved in their PE lessons this term. Our Junior and Foundation students have been practising their overarm throws, Middle students have been working on their ball control and passing skills in soccer and Senior students have been practising the skills needed for AFL. Please talk to your students about what they are learning in PE and spend some extra time outside, when the weather permits, practising these skills.

The Senior students have been playing AFL, Netball, Softball and Volleyball against our district schools in the Interschool sports winter season and have had some successful results! Well done teams! If you would like to come along and support the teams at the games in the future, please see Chris Roscoe or myself for a current draw.

We had a great day on the 8th of May with our House Cross Country at Elizabeth Bridge Reserve. A huge thank you to all of the parents/guardians that came and helped out. School events like this would not be as successful as they are without your help.

Congratulations to all of the students who made it through to the District Cross Country on Tuesday 29th May at Lilydale Lake. Training will commence on Monday morning at 8:30am for all who were successful.
