NAPLAN NAPLAN NAPLAN
We are so proud of our Grade Three students who completed their NAPLAN tests this week. On Tuesday, they completed a Language Conventions test and showed off how great they are at spelling and grammar. Later in the day, they completed a Persuasive Writing test and wrote about their 'big idea' - something they would change about the school, home or community. On Wednesday, they completed a Reading test where they read different articles in a magazine and answered questions about them and on Thursday they showed off their terrific maths brains and completed their Numeracy test. Our awesome Grade Four students also put in hard work, completing practise Grade 5 NAPLAN tests in preparation for next year. Well done to all of Middle School, you survived NAPLAN!
NAPLAN 2018 results will be provided to schools from mid-August to mid-September. The same report format is used for every student in Australia. The school will notify you when the reports are being sent home. Individual student results are strictly confidential. Community Visits
Middle School students have been enjoying spending time within the greater community this term. On Friday last week, Middle B braved the weather and walked down to Hansen Park Kinder and read picture story books to the Kinder kids and played games with them both inside and outside. The Kilsyth students were excellent role models for the Kinder kids and showed great leadership skills. Middle A walked to Walmsley Village and visited the residents. Students were able to read books to their new friends, or just sit and have a friendly chat over cordial and biscuits. Students commented on the interesting and exciting stories the residents were able to tell them about their life. We are looking forward to going back to Palm Grove Kinder and Ladybug Early Learning soon!

Our favourite outside game in Middle School is Capture The Flag! The Development Goal of Capture The Flag is to develop teamwork, cooperation, strategic thinking and verbal communication.
