Beach Clean Up

This week some enthusiastic MESEM students went to Frankston Beach to pick up rubbish.  They did this to keep it out of our oceans and the beautify the area.  In just 30 mins they picked up 3 buckets of rubbish and around 270 cigarette butts!

Thank you for helping to keep our beaches beautiful!

World's Greatest Shave

Congratulations to Ava W 8A.

I cut off over 30cm of my hair to donate to the World's Greatest Shave as it’s such a great cause.

Both my cousin and I came up with the idea while sitting around a campfire, about a year ago. We both set the goal to do the World's Greatest Shave, (or in our case ‘the World's Greatest Cut’,) as in the past 3 of our family members were diagnosed with a sort of cancer. This really inspired and motivated us to cut off our hair as a way to show our full empathy to those who are fighting for their lives.

I got involved with the world's Greatest Shave because it means that I'm helping people and I've met some people that have Leukaemia and i want to help people so then they might have a brighter future.

Mr Robinson shaved for a good cause, while we also had some leg waxing. Ouch!

I mainly wanted to do it because it's all a bit of fun and a great thing to do.

I wanted to do this because it goes to people in need and helps research something that affects people across the globe.  But mainly because one of my closest friends died of cancer.  So far I have raised $398.38!
