KUTA-KAYA
Students in Kuta-kaya have been focusing on social action to contribute to the wider community by holding an event for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Students worked hard in the lead up to the event at the end of week 6 by creating posters, planning activities and baking loads of yummy treats to sell!
The morning of the morning tea showed that all students have developed fantastic teamwork and leadership skills as they worked together to set up directions, decorations, displays and seating areas. Students were using exceptional professional communication as they welcomed our special guests, including the Federal member for Patterson, Meryl Swanson, MP for Cessnock, Clayton Barr, and Aboriginal Community Liaison Officer, Sonia Sharpe. Students took pride in demonstrating their achievement for parents and families and enjoyed meeting the families in our Kuta-kaya community.
Kuta-kaya raised over $650 for Cancer Council Australia! We would like to sincerely thank our guests, families, community, staff and students for your support in attending our event and supporting us to put on such a successful fundraiser.
