Reusable containers are stacking up after lunchtimes @ MGC
I have quite a collection! When I get a chance I like going on reconnaissance missions around the school and collect lunchboxes that have been abandoned by their owners. (I really know how to have a good time). I collect these, take them home and give them a wash and now the Science office is packed to the rafters with useful, reusable containers and drink bottles. My office is bursting at the seams and I’d really like to return these containers to anyone who thinks they could use them and take good care of them. These containers do not have name tags so I’ve got no idea of who belongs to whom. If you’re missing a few plastic containers or simply need to re stock, please tell your daughter to come and see me. I’m very happy to give away what I have so that we can see more zero waste lunches at MGC.
Also just a reminder to families to continue to try and reduce the amount of single use plastics that come to school in student lunches. Some simple ideas to achieve this: buy in bulk if possible, get your child to make their own school snacks from scratch, use reusable bags for fruit and veg purchases, if you can’t buy in bulk, buy the biggest packets of stuff that you can and decant into reusable containers. Try Googling zero waste lunch box ideas. Many, many thanks.
