Clean Up Australia and World Wildlife Day

World Wildlife Day, brought to you by the Climate Canons, was celebrated by the St Norbert College school community on Wednesday, 3 March. Students dressed up as a crocodile, penguin and magpie, sharing information at lunchtime. An informative notice board was set up where students could come and learn about the incredible species doing it tough around the world. The Climate Canons also hosted an infographic competition in which students were required to design an infographic on one of the species identified as being endangered on the IUCN red list. Thank you to all students involved. Our two winning entrants were Pulasthi Wijesinghe (Year 12 P3) and Esther Pal Soh (Year 7 M6). They will be awarded prizes at the College assembly on Wednesday 17 March.

Clean Up Australia Day

Sunday, 7 March was Clean Up Australia Day. Around the country, volunteers collected waste from our wetlands, beaches, freeways and parks in a bid to reduce waste entering our oceans and injuring our wildlife. We know Australia's waste challenges can't be solved in one day, but every effort counts. On Monday, 8 March, our students were involved in a Clean Up Australia Day event at the end of lunch where we really thought about where our waste ends up. Using recyclable gloves and bags to minimise our waste, students helped clean our College environment, showing strength in our College values of adaptability, community, respect and commitment. Thank you to all involved for doing our bit to protect and enhance our College environment.
