Student Success

Valuable qualification

St Norbert College would like to congratulate Year 12 student Pulasthi Wijesinghe for achieving his Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques through laboratory and pathology training company LTT.

Pulasthi’s commitment to his career goal of working in laboratory science saw him transfer from an ATAR pathway into a Work-Integrated Learning pathway during Year 11.

Pulasthi has worked hard over the past eight months, including during the school holidays, to achieve this nationally recognised qualification. He has also secured a work placement this semester at Merieux NutriSciences, a company that specialises in testing services in the food and nutrition industries as well as environmental, agrochemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

CEO of LTT,  Simon Gazia, explained:  “We were very pleased to support Pulasthi in his journey and congratulate him on his success.  The Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques is a valuable qualification and well recognised in an industry with significant opportunities.  We have every confidence that Pulasthi will succeed in his chosen career and hope to be able to support him further with his future studies.”

Pulasthi’s trainer and assessor, Sahar Aljondi, added: “Pulasthi was one of the outstanding students who completed cert IV in Laboratory techniques at LTT. During the course of his study, he recorded 100% attendance and completed his assessments with 100% pass. He is well mannered , always positive and keen to learn. Congratulations to his parents and his teachers.’’

Completing the training has broadened Pulasthi’s understanding of industry and created new opportunities for him. While he has qualified for university entrance he now has a clearer understanding of other pathways that could lead to success.
