Focaccia Fun

 

This term we welcomed the Year 4's back into the kitchen for some summer cooking fun.

 

Our first recipe of the week was 'Cherry Tomato and Basil Focaccia' which had everyone joining in to create a dough masterpiece. Each class worked in one of our four cooking groups, Broad Beans, Nasturtiums, Parsley and Warrigal Greens to follow the recipe and prepare their own handmade bread.

 

 We added lots of extra herbs from the garden including parsley, rosemary, thyme and saltbush. The smell from the kitchen was amazing and we enjoyed practising a variety of kitchen skills including measuring, mixing, kneading and washing dishes. 

 

We are excited to prepare and share many more summer dishes with Year 4 this term. We hope they will feel confident to share some of these skills and recipes with their families at home.
